Chapter 1
I scream in pain as the tip of his arrow cuts deeply into the flesh of my back. The pain is unbearable, more so that the last 2 arrows that were fired at me today. I glance over my should at my back and see the deep red blodd seeping from my wound. Gritting my teeth, I grab the end of the arrow and pull. Quickly and sharply. I let out another scream of pain as a feel a snap. I look at the half-arrow in the palm of my hand. The shaft had snapped when I tried to pull it out.
I carry on running through the trees, quickening my pace slightly as I hear shouts from behind, much louder than before. I still have half of an arrow stuck in my back. The sharp half that is. I start to feel dizzy as my severe loss of blood drains the energy from me. I manage to keep running for a few more metres when my legs just give way and I callapse onto my knees. As I fall flat onto my body I tilt my head to the right to see a large hole between the roots of a tree. I summon all my stregnth and manage to pull myself across to the enterance of the hole. I peer down into it and see a small family of rabbits looking back up at me. A few seconds later the rabbits run down their burrow and I lower myself into the hole, covering up the enterance with leaves so I don't give away my hiding spot. As I hear the footsteps of my followers approaching I decide to make a small hole in the leaves. I have my knfie held to my chest just incase they spot me. Once I have made a hole big enough to see through I find myself staring at some rather large black boots. They man wearing the boots wanders around for a few minutes, it's almost as if he can smell me. When the man finally moves on I relax slightly and concentrate on pulling the rest of that arrow from my back.
I struggle with the arrow for the next 15 minutes. I had put the handle of a small dagger in my mouth so I had something to grit my teeth agaisnt. I finally feel the arrow stating to loosen and with one massive tug, yank it straight out of my back. My body just couldn't take it.
I pass out.
